The highly anticipated second episode of Britain’s Got Talent 2023 aired on Sunday night, captivating viewers with a plethora of captivating acts. Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and newcomer Bruno Tonioli had the difficult task of deciding which acts would advance to the next round and compete for the £250,000 prize and a chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of King Charles and Queen Camilla later this year.
One of the most memorable moments of the show was when a hopeful contestant set himself on fire while attempting to complete a Rubik’s Cube, leaving the audience in awe. Another standout moment was when head judge Simon pressed his Golden Buzzer for 13-year-old choirboy Malakai Bayoh, whose soulful performance moved the judges and viewers alike to tears.
Social media was abuzz with fans calling for Malakai to win the competition and grace the stage at the Royal Variety Performance.
In addition to the impressive acts, a Latin dance duo caught the attention of viewers. One of the dancers, 24-year-old Nathan, who has Down’s Syndrome, gave judge Alesha a sarcastic side-eye when she surprised him with a visit before his performance. Nathan later had a sassy exchange with Bruno, who is known for his critical remarks from his time on Strictly Come Dancing.
The show also kicked off with a hilariously entertaining Coronation Street-themed intro. Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly found themselves lost on the famous set of the long-running soap opera while searching for the judges. They encountered familiar faces from Coronation Street, including Sally Metcalfe (played by Sally Dynevor), and engaged in witty banter.
