Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter for nearly six months, jokingly revealed in a recent interview with the BBC that he has been sleeping on a couch in the company’s seventh-floor library, which he claims is now being run by his dog, Floki. Musk, who launched a poll in December 2022 to determine whether he should step down as CEO, stated that he has abided by the results of the poll because his dog is now the CEO of Twitter.
He has posted pictures of his pet dressed in human clothing and referred to Floki as the “amazing” new CEO of Twitter who is “great with numbers”.
Musk also shared that he sometimes sleeps in the Twitter office on a couch in a library that is rarely used. He insisted that he had to cut costs immediately upon taking over Twitter, claiming that the company had only “four months to live” and would have gone bankrupt if not for his intervention. As a result, Twitter’s employee count has decreased from “just under 8,000 staff members” to approximately 1,500 employees.
Despite facing constant criticism and attack over his takeover of Twitter, Musk stated that he believes it is important to receive negative feedback and does not block anyone or turn off replies to his tweets, as he values hearing diverse perspectives.

The billionaire acknowledged that the criticism has taken a toll on him, as he does not possess “a stone-cold heart”, but he remains committed to managing Twitter, even with his dog as the self-proclaimed CEO.
