The committee’s composition and announcement were made by Governor Samuel Ortom after presiding over the State Executive Council meeting in Makurdi on Wednesday. The announcement was made public through a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur.
The committee will be headed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Prof. Tony Ijohor, with all members of the State Executive Council as members. Mr. Bartholomew Aondoaver Ageraga, the Director of the EXCO, will serve as the Committee’s Secretary. The Committee is expected to submit its report within three weeks.

Following the Governorship and State Assembly elections, Governor Ortom expressed his dissatisfaction with the security agencies for militarizing the election in the state. He recounted instances where the security deployed by the Federal Government intimidated, tortured, and even killed some voters.
He stated that the party was studying the outcome of the election results and would make its position known to the public soon. Governor Ortom appealed to the people of the state to maintain peace, while his administration remains committed to promoting peace.
