Asma’u Lawali Bungudu, a nurse who worked at the Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Zamfara State, tragically passed away while she was discharging her duties. It was a day like any other when she arrived at the hospital on a Wednesday morning, hale and hearty, to begin her workday. However, a few hours after she resumed her duty post, she was confirmed dead.
According to reports, Asma’u was a diligent worker, and she had already checked the blood pressure of about 30 patients before she complained about feeling unwell. She informed a doctor that she was experiencing a cardiac issue and, shortly after, she collapsed. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, she could not be revived, and she was pronounced dead.

Auwal Usman, the hospital spokesman, confirmed the tragic incident to news reporters and explained the sequence of events that led to Asma’u’s death. He stated that the hospital’s management team led by the Medical Director, Dr Usman Muhammad Shanawa, had handed over her body to her relatives.
When a family member of the late nurse was contacted, they confirmed that Asmau had left home without any health complaints on that fateful day. It was a shock to everyone who knew her, as she was always lively and full of energy. The family member added that Asma’u had been laid to rest at Malan Abdurrahaman House, Magama Area, Bungudu, in accordance with Islamic tradition.
