On Friday, several individuals were injured during a confrontation in Aiyetoro, Surulere, Lagos, between rival groups believed to be associated with the All Progressive Party and the Peoples Democratic Party. A video circulating on social media depicted the two groups engaging in a gunfight, with one group eventually overpowering the other.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing vehicles quickly reversing and shopkeepers taking cover to avoid being struck by stray bullets. The altercation even caused a pregnant woman, identified only as Chinyere, to go into labor. A campaign vehicle of one of the parties was spotted leaving the scene. By the time police arrived, the armed individuals had fled. The spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hudenyin, stated that three people were injured and that there were no deaths or arrests.
