Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, has once again brought pride to her country with her recent nomination in the 2023 Oscars for her role as a songwriter on the track “Lift Me Up”, featured in the Marvel film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”. Tems collaborated with renowned singer Rihanna, music producer Ludwig Göransson, and the film’s director Ryan Coogler to create the song.

The list of nominations was announced on Tuesday, with the multiverse sci-fi film “Everything Everywhere All at Once” receiving the most nominations at 11. It was followed by the Irish dark comedy “The Banshees of Inisherin” and the World War I film “All Quiet on the Western Front” with 9 nominations each.
